Why Dandies Vegan Marshmallows are the Best Marshmallow on the Market

Chicago Vegan Foods launched Dandies Vegan Marshmallows in 2010 and its success quickly made it the company’s flagship product. Dandies were the first internationally available vegan and gelatin-free marshmallow, with an ingredient list that’s natural and recognizable, and taste and texture even better than that of a gelatin-based marshmallows. Inspired by the animal rights movement in the 1990s, friends Ryan Howard and Dan Ziegler founded Chicago Vegan Foods in 2001 with an intent to promote animal rights and provide alternatives to products that harm animals and the environment. Family owned and self-funded, Howard and Ziegler started in a small basement and originally made vegan frozen desserts and vegan cheese. Now, with the success of Dandies, they manufacture out of their own 40,000 sf vegan facility in Chicago, Illinois.

Howard and Ziegler never expected their mission of making plant-based foods while educating consumers to be so successful. Dandies Vegan Marshmallows fulfill a previously unmet demand to enjoy the childhood treat and relive those memories and create new ones in a more compassionate and inclusive way. Dandies are allergy-friendly and free from gluten, dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and fish (they contain soy), and are gelatin-free, non-GMO, kosher, and are made with no artificial flavors or colors, and no corn syrup.

There are five varieties of Dandies Vegan Marshmallows - Vegan Marshmallows, Vegan Mini Marshmallows, Vegan Pumpkin Mini Marshmallows, Vegan Maple Mini Marshmallows, and Vegan Peppermint Mini Marshmallows. The Vegan Marshmallows and Vegan Mini Marshmallows are vanilla flavored and available year-round. The Vegan Mini Pumpkin, Maple, and Peppermint Marshmallows are seasonal flavors available every year starting in October until they’re sold out.
